André Bériault

Born in Ottawa, Canada, André Bériault finished his college years with the Holy Spirit Fathers at the Saint Alexandre College, thus receiving a religious and classical education. His early years in art, creating mainly portraiture and nature B&W photography, where strongly influenced by his private Dutch teacher, painter and photographer Hans Van Der Aa. Andre then expanded his vision of art and photography with three years studies at the Montreal School of Fine Arts and two years of History of Art at King’s College in Cambridge.

While maintaining a long and successful career in IT and Web design, Mr. Bériault expanded his photographic art vision with his work on man and his link with history, in so building his Collections works and his reportage series about Orthodox Russia; all available in book form and partly presented on his Web site. His works have been shown to a wide public in Quebec City, Montreal, Chicago, New York and Moscow in the context of public exhibitions, art shows and workshops.

Beyond photography, André works on drama short films and art documentaries with his wife and partner Natalya Bronzova. His short drama, Resurrection, based on a Kenneth Fairing’s poem, was presented at the New York Indie Film Festival. The documentary feature film, Art Changing Life, for which he did camera and NL editing and directed by Ms Bronzova, was presented at the Moscow Film Festival.

André admits that his strong friendship with academician and artist Gregory Pototsky in Moscow has had tremendous influence on the evolution of his art and his vision on mankind. More specifically on the absolute necessity of morality, love and beauty in all human relations and endeavors. The absence of which being greatly responsible for the barbaric age of greed and destruction humanity is presently living.

Now living in the Philippines, Mr. Beriault offers his DoP and photographer services to all and any producers and directors hoping to give to their work, intelligent creativity and consistent quality of work. His current mainstream project is the filming and photography of Filipino resiliency to disaster, a quality that may one day help other world populations live through the harsh living conditions that are expanding rapidly worldwide.
