Armi Cacanindin

Armi Rae Cacanindin is one of the young film producers in the Philippines specializing in international co-productions under their production company, Cinematografica Films, which was founded in 2005 by leading Filipino independent producers and filmmakers Arleen Cuevas, Armi Rae Cacanindin and Raya Martin. It aims to craft innovative local stories with emerging and established voices, while also promoting fresh new way of seeing them at home and abroad.

She participated in Busan’s Asian Film Academy, Berlinale Talents and Talents Tokyo. She has also participated in the La Fabrique des Cinema du Monde 2016 in Cannes and Torino Film Lab 2017 for the project “Whether the Weather is Fine.” where they were given the Co-Production Award, and also at International Documentary Festival Amsterdam for the documentary project Aswang.

She graduated from the University of the Philippines Film Institute in 2005 with a degree in Film and Audio Visual Communication. After graduation, she started as script continuity supervisor and wardrobe supervisor and rose the ranks to production designer and assistant director and now to being a producer. And in a span of 12 years, she has worked for films that premiered at Cannes, Berlin, Busan, Locarno, Tribeca, Toronto, among others.
