Menchit Ongpin

Menchit has photographed for various newspapers and lifestyle magazines such as Sense & Style, People Asia, Cook. She has also taken on physically demanding assignments such as industrial photography.

As a lifestyle photographer for a leading magazine, Menchit’s “beat” included not just the expected people photos but also architectural exteriors and interiors, food, fashion, and culture. Because a professional food stylist was usually not part of her team, she learned to do the styling and plating herself.

Her background as a real estate broker gave her an insider’s view of architecture, besides developing her skills for dealing with all kinds of clients.

Working for magazines taught Menchit the discipline of adapting to situations, especially when photographing celebrities and businessmen, and working fast.

A personal project, photographing a ballet dancer nude in gymnastic poses, was published in a photography magazine.
